and invite you to worship with us again soon. The Pastor, Staff and people of
Hickory will be glad to share with you information about opportunities for

HUMC AFTER SCHOOL DAYCARE PROGRAM: As most of you are already aware, we will begin an
after school day care program beginning on Sept. 2nd. Monday through Friday from 2:00-6:00 pm,
children in kindergarten (PM) through fifth grade will be provided a supervised
and nurturing environment with opportunities for snack, supervised homework and
Accelerated Reading times, inside and outside play time and more! Registration has begun. We are asking for your prayers and for your
support. We hope this program will be
an outreach opportunity into the surrounding community to reach children who
may or may not have the opportunity to attend church regularly. We hope to provide children with a safe
place to stay while parents are working as well as to offer them an opportunity
to learn about their Heavenly Father who loves them. Please lift up this program as well as those working with the
program in your daily prayers. Please
ask God to bless this new ministry at HUMC.
Also, if you know of someone who could benefit from this program, please
share this information with them. There
are registration forms available on the piano as well as on the Children’s
Table in the Welcome Center. Please
share these forms with friends, neighbors and relatives especially with those
living in the Hickory Elementary school zone.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and your support. To make an appointment, call Donna Mishler @ 469-0632. Thank You!
New Study Opportunity: A new class, “Simply Christian – Why Christianity
Makes Sense” will start on 9/3/08. See

If you have a child going away to college for the first time or if their address has changed
since last year, please contact Carolyn Everton (406-1028) so that the Outreach
Committee can include them in their Card Ministry.
