After the 8:30 service and just before Sunday School there is a social time with light refreshments in the Welcome Center.  You are invited to meet and greet.

 

At the 8:30 service, we welcome Neil & Amy McClanan into the fellowship of Hickory Church.  We also celebrate in the baptism of Josh David McClanan.  Please greet them at the conclusion of worship.

 

Christian love and sympathy is extended to Craig Robertson and family upon the death of his uncle.

 

Administrative Council: The September Administrative Council Meeting will be held on Monday, August 23rd, at 7:00 p.m.  All members of the Administrative Council should plan to be in attendance. 

 

The congregation is invited to attend Anne Tate’s birthday celebration today at Beth Shalom from 2-4 pm.  The family has requested cards only, no gifts.  They will be having a small reception with birthday cake and invite you to come and visit with her.

 

CHILDREN'S CHURCH VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers still needed!  Please prayerfully consider giving ½ hour of your time in a 3 month period to help with the ministry of our children at Hickory Church.  Contact Donna Mishler @ 421-7963.

HUMC After School Day Care Program: If you know of someone who may benefit from this program, please have them call the church office for more information.  The Day Care profits are being used to pay down the mortgage on our church building.  When you support the day care by referring people to us, you help the church to reduce the amount left on the mortgage.  We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support. 

 

 

Ladies...Beth Moore's latest Bible study, Here and now...There and Then, is coming to Hickory!

This 11 session series, with its unfolding scenes of unsurpassed drama, will lead us in a study of the Book of Revelation.  Classes begin at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 21st.  You are invited to come learn, in everyday language, what happens when the earth and the fruit of its rebellion become ripe for the sickle.  A sign-up sheet is located on the table in the Welcome Center.  Seating is limited, so register today!  For more information contact Stephanie Stahler at 546-9408.

 

GOOD NEIGHBOR FESTIVAL YARD SALE ALERT!  It's that time again!  Let us help you get rid of those items in your closets, garages, and sheds.  All gently used, loved a lot items such as clothing, books, toys, games, furniture, appliances, tools, electronic equipment, and more can be brought to the church on September 19, 20, 21, & 22.  No items will be accepted after Sept. 22.  Can't wait until Sept. 19?  Call Donna Mishler (421-7963) to arrange a time to bring donations to our storage site. Looking forward to lots of stuff!!!  All donations are tax deductible. 

 

BLUE BUCKET OF CHILDREN'S BOOKS: The Generation Why Not Class is collecting Children's Books from toddler age all the way to high school age.  These books will be donated to needy families in the community through the local schools, food pantries and women's shelters.  Please put all your new and gently used books in the Blue Bucket provided in the Welcome Center
