United Methodist Men
HUMC Men's Mission Statement
United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek daily his will.
The Spiritual Advance, formerly held in Blackstone, will be held at Baylake UMC in Virginia Beach on October 26, 27, 2018. The theme this year is “Go and Make Disciples”. The early bird registration fee of $80 is open until Sept. 17th. Women are invited this year as the VA Conference UMM strive to make the Advance a family event. The registration fee for women is $40. You can register at www.elizabethrivermen.org. See Joe King for more information.
Our primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in their relationships.
Men seeking membership in a local United Methodist Men's Fellowship shall subscribe to the "Purpose" of United Methodist Men and to these personal objectives:
Engage daily in Bible study and prayer, bear witness to Christ's way in daily work and in all personal contacts through words and actions and engage in Christian service.
Hickory United Methodist Men Leadership Commitment
Assist men in their ever-changing relationships, roles, and responsibilities in their family setting, workplace, and society. Advocate programs that will train men in ministry, including prayer, missions, stewardship, and civic/youth. Fulfill the great commission with and through the United Methodist Church as part of the Body of Christ.
This mission is an opportunity for the Men of Hickory United Methodist Church to provide assistance to our church members who may need extra help around the house. (i.e. minor repairs, yard work, etc.)
